NORMU guides clients through design choices and pre-start selections with personal attention and honest feedback. Reviewers consistently report feeling heard, less stressed, and more confident before their builds begin. Staff including Bame and Rebecca work through colour, finishes, and furniture decisions methodically, offering design ideas while respecting budgets. The team's willingness to challenge clients' ideas and suggest functional solutions they hadn't considered sets them apart. Many note the structured, easy-to-follow process makes what can feel overwhelming into something enjoyable and well-prepared.
This is primarily a design consultation service, not a trades company. Their strength lies in helping new homeowners clarify vision and make selections before construction starts. They collaborate with builders (Build Insight WA and AMG Homes are named in reviews), handle cabinetry and materials guidance, and organise assisted shopping trips. Clients report feeling prepared and confident heading into their projects, with fewer regrets and overlooked details.
Most clients praise the design team and quality finish, especially kitchen work that earned HIA award nomination. A small number report project delays, disconnect between designers and tradespeople, and unclear billing on fixtures and extras that soured otherwise satisfactory outcomes.
Rob leads a team that consistently delivers on time and on budget, with reviews highlighting how rare that combination feels. From bathrooms to full home overhauls, they communicate at every stage, keep sites tidy, and treat design choices with genuine care. Site manager John and the broader team work to the same standard. Reviewers name specific projects: laundry overhauls with built-in desks, kitchen tearouts in 1980s homes, outdoor areas, and ensuite installs with gas fireplaces. Several have rehired or recommended friends without hesitation.
Home Base is a material and design showroom where people starting renovations come to compare tiles, benchtops, cabinetry, and flooring options under one roof. While most find it a useful planning resource with good product variety, some report unhelpful or dismissive staff at particular vendor counters, and occasional gaps in product information or display completeness.
